# dev.hmr

- **Type:** `boolean`
- **Default:** `true`

Whether to enable Hot Module Replacement.

## Disabling HMR

When `dev.hmr` is set to `false`, HMR and react-refresh will be disabled and Rsbuild will automatically fall back to [dev.liveReload](/config/dev/live-reload.md).
